“Huh, what does my Brain have to do with it?”

All our experiences, behaviours and abilities are based on electrical activity in the Brain. That includes symptoms of Functional Brain Disorders.
“What? Are you saying it’s all in my head?”

So, what is the factual answer to the angry question: “What? Are you saying it’s all in my head?” — Absolutely! And that’s where we’re going to fix it.
“Are you trying to mess with my Brain?”

The message is: When Brains are a little messed up, it’s a good idea to find a Neurotherapist who can help clean up the mess. Otherwise you might regret the messed opportunity of “messing” with your Brain—in a good way!
“How come that I’ve never heard of Nurotherapy?”

It is a regular occurrence that—after successful Neurotherapy—our clients ask us:”Why didn’t anyone tell me about this earlier? It would have saved me years of struggling, bucket-loads of disappointments and tons of money for temporary symptom treatments.” So, why had they never heard of it?
“Is this just another one of those whacky ‘alternative’ methods?”

The term “Alternative Therapy” always has a stench of Voodoo, doesn’t it? While “Natural Therapy“, “Herbal Remedy” and “drug-free” at least sound harmless and benign, it is also clear that “Alternative Medicine” isn’t “conventional” or “real Medicine“. Unconventional is another word for “whacky” and nobody with a serious issue wants to fall for the “quackery” of a “charlatan” selling “snake oil“.
“Why doesn’t Medicine simply fix all my problems?”

Modern Western Medicine can be awesome for infectious diseases, tissue injuries, organ failures and cancer. Functional Brain Disorders do not fall into these categories. They need Neurotherapy.
“Is Neurofeedback-based Brain training the same as electroshock therapy?”

Electroconvulsive Treatment (ECT) utilises up to 900mAmp (!) at a voltage of up 480 Volts (!!) to induce a seizure-fit with convulsions in patients under full Anaesthesia. A common side effect is cognitive impairments, yet, not all Psychiatrists find this technique barbaric. Go figure.
“If Neurotherapy is that good, why is it not on page one of every newspaper?”

News is, when bad things happen: “PILOT DISTRACTED: PLANE CRASHES-185 DEAD”. Neurotherapy prevents human tragedy and is not really new.
“Is it proven by randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trials?”

Neurotherapy is a Behavioural Therapy, because it changes the behaviour of the Brain. It is not a drug treatment and double-blind RCTs are not the right tool to evaluate it.
“If Neurotherapy is so effective, it must have serious risks and side effects. Right?”

Neurotherapy is based on learning, practicing and training, not drugs. Therefore pharmaceutical “risks and side effects” do not apply. Mild adverse reactions can and do occur. They are specific to the client.
“What if I’ve already tried everything: Drugs, Counselling, Naturopaths …?”

At BODY MIND & BRAIN, we don’t blindly “try” any “treatments” for “symptom relief”. We examine, measure and test what’s wrong with the electrical activity in your Brain in order to target these abnormalities with safe, non-invasive and drug-free methods of active and passive Neuromodulation.
When healthy electrical Brain function is restored, symptoms vanish and people can stop playing roulette with their life. You should give it a try!
“Are you a medical doctor?”

There is no reason to be scared: We can assure you that there are no medical doctors at BODY MIND & BRAIN and so, you have nothing to fear! Pinky swear!
“Is Neurotherapy an effective treatment?”

Neurotherapy is not a treatment at all. The main modality is Neurofeedback, a Brain Training that targets the electrical Brain activity that is the cause of the symptoms.
“Does Neurotherapy help with Mental Illness?”

What medical marketing calls “mental illnesses” are, in reality, Functional Brain Disorders. Dysregulated Brain networks cause abnormal electrical Brain activity. That’s where Neurotherapy comes in.
“My doctor said, Neurotherapy is rubbish!”

Medical doctors are experts in medical treatments of infectious diseases, injuries, organ failures and cancer. Functional Brain Disorders are neither of those, but GPs are trained to “treat” them as such anyway.
